Nokia E6 – You just Gotta Love it!

Nokia’s latest QWERTY enabled device is the E6. The Nokia E6 comes with a lot of changes and improvements from its previous handset which was the nokia E72. The E-series range has always been highly valued in terms of its quality and the E6 is no exception. The Nokia E6 feels solid but has soft keys on the keyboard. However, due to the huge advances of Blackberry operating systems and Android producing handsets that look similar, Nokia is trying to keep ahead of the competition by upgrading the screen from QVGA to full VGA. Nokia has done this so that they can give serious high definition.

The nokia E6 has another new feature which is the touch screen. This feature is going to take a bit of getting used to because the small display needs a fair degree of accuracy to select the right options in menus, but thankfully you won’t be needing to use the on screen keyboard due to the full QWERTY keyboard. Underneath the screen there are four shortcut keys and a D-pad. The earlier models of the E-series in terms of the hardware keys aren’t individually defined, what this actually means is that it can be tricky to give them a confident press. The E6 is well spaced through so that you shouldn’t find many situations where u accidently hang up the call when you want to open the phonebook.

On the right hand side of the phone there is a record button to activate the voice recorder. On the left hand side of the phone there is a micro-USB connector. Just below the volume keys there is a hardware lock key, in the form of a slider that you can flick up and down to lock and unlock. Another you can unlock the phone is by tapping the power button on the top and press on the virtual unlock icon display. What you can also find at the top of the phone is a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro SDHC card slot, with a cover to protect it. The Nokia E6 has 8GB of internal memory which is huge amounts of space if you are not using the phone for watching movies. You can also buy external memory cards up to 32GB if you think that 8GB is not enough for you.

The nokia E6 uses the latest operating system which is named ‘Anna’ which takes many of the features from the likes of the E7 and the N8. For example you can easily edit the position of widgets and shortcuts by simply holding down your finger on the screen and adding and removing elements in the grid pattern.  The Nokia E6 has a battery that will keep the phone up and running for a good couple of days at a time. One thing you get from this particular handset is HDMI output although you can play HD content and capture HD video from the 8 megapixel camera. All of these features that the Nokia E6 has proves that there’s definitely still life in the symbian platform.
